Solace in Devon
The stage is set - for success
The plan is to make this building into a natural theatre with seating in front of it. A place where plays are performed, where parents watch their children gain confidence with newly found friends. A place to watch the stars (at night and the stars of the future in their children!).
We will have pygmy goats and rescue hens here, places to play hide and seek, to forage and build, adventure and learn. Streams and ponds to play in and a fire pit to sit round and tell tales of days gone by.
Odin
Odin loves it here, but he is not very wise, he has been stuck in the pond, he has rolled in sheep poo and he seems to find a new tick every time he goes out. Please do not be like Odin, be careful and check yourself for ticks if you are running through the long grass. The property has the advantage of being close to the A30, so is really easy to find, but has the disadvantage of being close to the A30, so there is road noise. We hope that you will hear it only as a background noise, it does not hamper conversations or birdsong, but we want you to know that it is not a place where the only sound you hear is the crickets chirping!
Lady Manners School
Matt and Jo both grew up in Derbyshire and were in school together. They had no idea that their paths would cross again 30+ years later thanks to a Facebook post. Jo's brilliant idea became reality thanks to Matt's hard work.
For almost a decade people had been telling Jo that her idea was great, but Matt was the first to say 'I'll help'. As he was based in Devon, the property search moved from the Midlands closer to his family home and they found the right setting for Solace in Devon, at EX20 1QL, close to the services with good transport links.
The purchase took months of frustration, but through it all they kept thinking, this is just one more hurdle to overcome.
